I've realized in order to get better you have to improve on every flaw.

Being progressive only starts with the humbleness of an individual. Being 100% visual of flaws and potential.

At first I thought my family was being harsh by always criticizing me and took their critiques in bad light but as I grew I knew I had to be more open minded (not only about health, but life goals, priorities etc). I take all advice with a grain of salt.

I thought back on this as I did my Honesty Reflection in the mirror today for my work out plan.

And no.. I'm not fat, chunky nor do I have obnoxious love handles but though I may be skinny I'm not in shape! I've been doing gymnastics, tennis and dance all my life and though I may not weigh one more pound then I did my freshman year in college I'm certainly not on my best. I even get winded walking my dog for 35mins. My goal is to tone up and shape up inside and out for Spring Break (my birthday!!!) and also as a ritual for the rest of my life.

Today I started school again since my semester off.

Last semester, a couple of days before school I severely burned my leg and ended up needing to receive skin graft surgery. Even though I healed like a superwoman I was out for the semester and it killed me!

I love school.

No, not the teachers, other students or the chalkboards but the educational part. The learning among your peers though you may grasp it a little quicker. I missed the homework (that never made it home), the structure, the progressive routine. I remember having practice for gymnastics in the early morning then school, then fashion show practice. I was at my best, fullest, busiest, and happiest. I lived and am going to live a progressive life.

What I don't miss however are stupid/simple/basic people.

The thought or notion that being slow is acceptable.

-_-Why bother coming?

Or keeping a facade that says on thing when your aura speaks differently?

You can be beautiful, talented and intellectual.

Another day in Atlanta.

A couple of weeks ago @728Fashionmag and I (@Nik_gold) had a photoshoot with Atlanta's own @CoCokissatl22 rapper/model/entertainer.

It was a fun experience, she is a sweetheart I noted as I got to interview her for 7/28 Magazine, I loved working with good vibes, talented people and lots of material.

I was styling jewelry and creative directing on this one as I felt the aura, the passion and saw a vision!

All in all it was a Grade A photo shoot and I cannot wait for more work with @728fashionmag!

This year I'm working on finishing everything I start.

It's 1 in the morning and I'm fed up with sloppy technology.

There are three parts to this post because I've recently been busying myself and realized a lot of novel ideas/opinions when it comes to advice.

1. The main advice I was given when it came to my brand name is keep it moving... In the best way of course. Keep progressing and moving fast forward, however because people like to imitate instead of innovate I was warned to keep the newest projects under wraps. This is probably the bitterest advice given since I love to spread my ideas and new workings so I will have to find a balance between the two. Plus, my blog is MY blog. I express my feelings, journey, opinions etc and if I want to share something so be it, anything else done after me will literally be in my footsteps.

2. Not all advice should be taken into consideration. I only say this because the old saying about you expressing your problems and "80% are happy you have it 20% don't care" is mostly true (mostly). If they do give you advice it's based off of THEIR feelings, THEIR experiences, THEIR emotions, not yours. So the best person to seek is God first, look into yourself for what your'e really looking for and then family/friends. I call it my inner to outer rule.

3. Advice is what it is... Warning, caution and opinion in the end you can take it or leave it.

Adorning my temple in nothing less than the best and fed the most extravagant plates of delightfulness

High off of life like I was when I was younger

A priceless aura of positivity people would sell their souls to be around

Deserving this and much more

Is what makes me a lady, a Queen

Think of it more so as a saying, a thought process every woman should speak into herself every morning while she is gathering her thoughts and getting ready to face the world. In a time when women are treated like animals and carry themselves even lower, we forget the time when men started wars over one, formed countries for another and traveled, built, sung & competed for a small gesture of kindness... from a Queen.

I realized in New York I had a passion for all of my creative projects, even writing. It flowed off my pen, colors and patterns screamed at me to mismatch them and jewelry could always be worn a different way out of different materials. Getting dressed in the morning was a never ending photo shoot of what to wear, what my options were and what I could wear differently. Upon exiting the school days of mandatory uniform I extended myself into a world of style and expressing myself through any creative way possible. It can only be a blessing that my passion of creativity and expressing myself to the world through fashion and journalism is as natural as can be. I don't have to ride the spotlight in fact in my later years of high school and college I shied away from it. Now it seems only right to seize the opportunities thrown my way and make money doing what I love!

This is a mint green color I absolutely love!

I made a mint blue color earlier this year and wore it for a portion of my summer. This mint green screamed winter fleece and holiday parties. My mother must think she is the empress of nail colors. She saw the color and immediately told me to take the "summer color" off of my nails.

What do you consider winter colors?

I consider dark colors like plum, navy blue, black and deep red

as well as light colors like cream, nude, mint green and even silver/gold.

So before dabbing some nail polish remover on a specific "seasonal color" you fell in love with, broaden your spectrum of colors/tints and tones and "MAKE IT WORK"

I used to be the chick with many bracelets, never matching yet always coordinating, a good three to make the ensemble go round. I reached college and fell in love with the bracelet-watch coordination then finally I landed on the statement cuff. Even in high school when girls were beginning to wear heels to the club and stumble into interviews in some never-wear-again pumps I was strutting all over my stomping ground in 4 inches or higher. It was more so because my mother wouldn't buy me Jordans like everyone else in New York was wearing and I was not wearing some cheap flats she brought from Payless. It helped that I was always in some type of fashion show and was labeled the girl that dressed "weird". Now dressing "weird" is in and I'm like wah?

But flats for me have never changed. Mostly because I never find ones stylish enough. I skipped across some leopard Steve Madden ones a couple of years back but those are gone with the wind. The ones pictured above though? I'd do some damage...

But I've always had some problems.
Stubborn, Too amiable too often, Not pushing myself.
Yada Yada (The list goes on)
What I've realized as I've gotten older is you have to face these things
you do worst in order to get over them.
By indulging in your weakness you hinder your true potential
and that's something I have no time for.
I also realized I love being challenged and having that extra push to prove
So laying back relaxing is NOT the move.
But then again... maybe it's just me.

My babies I purchased the other day along with cheetah print ones and these other killer ones!!! (Surprise)

But these by far will probably be worn the most. Right now it's too simple for me. I was probably going to add a satin black or patterned bow along the back or stud the heel. I might go with the bow because it's not to permanently damaging but I will definitely take a picture of the end result!

I love them already.

I think there are enough pictures of me on here but I wanted to describe my Ombre hair!

I recently died my hair into a cute Ombre look

Ombre: multi-colored hair variation, transitioning from roots to ends.

I had fun doing it on my own because 1. they don't sell this weave in stores yet and 2. I love learning how to do new things!

The end result was similar to the picture above I even changed it up and wore it with bangs.

It is a common trend among Caucasians when the blonde touch ups simply grow out over time, slowly but surely more people tried it including Teyana Taylor (who inspired me and wore colors like blue and green on the tips but I have a job or two I'd like to keep =/) and now everybody is trying it!

FYI, they should start selling it in stores soon.

Frank Ocean was unknown to many at the beginning of this year. In February his mixtape Nostalgia,Ultra was passed around like pipping hot HPV, no seriously everyone heard of Frank O, then his cosigning on Watch The Throne and features with fellow weirdo, Tyler the Creator? People knew he was a star on the rise. His first video to Novocane was an utter and complete tease with a little bit of this, little bit of that and he decided to follow it with this one?

I know Frank Ocean is a different individual on the edge of creativity, steady pushing the boundaries. However, there is a difference between capturing the audiences' attention and trying too hard to hold onto the new hotness. This right here... is NOT the new hotness. It's just a random video with type C iPhone videography, the staple Panda hat (sort of cute), an ugly orange stretch limo, Ninja Ocean and images a this "her". There are so many ways he could have taken this video so it could have been a hit instead of a distant splash, so many lines that could have been drawn so gracefully but weren't...

Blah.
