I LIVE!

Dancing and style are two of my favorite things (well aside for food). I have been catching up with SYTYCD when I find the time and found two pieces of dance and style close to my heart.

The first one is Ke$ha themed (stylist/artist) I've been following for years (who is now working with American Apparel ) mixed with Lady Gaga's quirky dancer/choreographer Mark and a bit of a MIA feel. The style is sharp, dancing a bit avant-garde and even a tad drag. You know I love a splash of G0ld with everything! Check out this out of the world routine below!

The second piece is with my favorite dancer of the season, Jasmine along with Amy. They are both so sharp and distinctive in their movement. Let's not skip these costumes!!! With one of my favorite songs "The Diva Dance" from my favorite movie "The Fifth Element" the choreographer captures the novelty and uniqueness of sound. As a stylist I would have done white or blue asymmetrical wigs instead of mere black ones. However, the piece is beautiful, awkward, modelesque and attention capturing. Enjoy!

Are you ready? I've been creating royal pieces for my lines fall/winter 2013 collection as well as some for clients. Constructing custom pieces, handmade clothing, accessories and tailoring looks. It's amazing to see a vision form into real life! 

I had the pleasure of styling a shoot with Nik_Gold Designs in DC for actress Adunni Ade earlier this month and styled one here in Atlanta with my multi talented friend and NGD model Angel with one of my favorite photographers David Sincere. 

I styled my customized cheetah two piece set along with a few of my new handmade and customized pieces. I can't wait for my next photo shoot and to release the rest of my creations! Fall is a great time to incorporate those bigger pieces in your closest. From jerseys to boyfriends shirts and jeans. You can layer or break up the look with some feminine details. Here I paired a black and white jersey with a well tailored sunshine yellow pant. Both ladies carry it well and there will be a severe drop in weave sales with these influential stars solidifying it's beautiful being different.

Nicki Minaj sports this beautiful stained glass print Alexander McQueen dress. The stained glass effect has been in style this season and will blend well in the fall/winter collections. I totally adore this look and can't wait to rock it in my own way!

My obsession with my husband Pharrell is in full affect as he pairs with model Cara Delevingne, who was let go from H&M but still on top of her game snagging deals and covers around the world. They just look so good separately and paired in these pictures. Pharrell is not just a musical genius but the brain behind so much music coming out including Blurred Lines, my blog theme song and so much more coming to your ears soon! He's back like he never left and of course hasn't aged one bit.

I LOVE Ebony Magazine for this cover alone. Opening more eyes and not letting the injustice be forgotten. Trayvon Martin and so many more innocent murders. Pairing well known celebrities with their son sporting hoods. We have to continuously fight for justice and keep this topic well known. Silence with injustice is deadly. I will be purchasing a copy of this issue, I hope you do as well.

NGD X F/W Preview X Royal Slideshow

Heading into the fall with my fall/winter collection I have decided to preview and shoot with some custom pieces in the mean time. With my sewing skills growing I get to work with many different materials and enjoyed roaming the isles of MOOD when I was in NYC earlier this month. I can't believe how fast this summer went by!

Now it's back to business as I continue to expand my brand and grow my skills in making clothes, customizing pieces and of course hand making jewelry and accessories.

NGD X 1 Yr Online Anniversary

Nik_Gold Designs has been in business for almost 4 years and selling online has helped tremendously. Not only can you custom order but purchase one of a kind pieces online. The anniversary marks my growth and the potential to make this full time, the anniversary is just in time because most of my previous items are sold out. Accessorizing celebrities video and photo shoots, hosting fashion events and premiering my line at an annual BE Magazine fashion show has only fueled me to do more and bigger. There are levels to this but there are no limits for me.

 This year I've worked more with clothes, hand sewn and custom, I grew a deeper passion for making things from scratch just seeing a vision become reality, it's therapeutic. I have more eye catching handmade jewelry and accessories and I love making  extraordinary pieces for guys as well. I will be releasing some special pieces for the rest of the summer and it feels wonderful to have the support system I have. Emails, meetings and phone calls "What's next?", or "Can you create...?" or "I need to shoot with your line" fuels me everyday.
