Reflection X Time X Growth

Time passing is inevitable and as I was looking through my pictures the other day I realized how fast it flies. When I first moved to Atlanta I was the eclectic dressing, coffee drinking, dancing blogger from New York and quickly made friends with other newbies from New Orleans, Detroit and some from Atlanta. Over time people began to appreciate my style, sarcastic personality and creative outlets. The picture below was taken by D.Sincere Photography at Fearless Weirdos Boutique in Atlanta, Georgia, long before I started working there.

I was in the store for a fashion show and never imagined taking it as a platform to elevate me to where I wanted to be. After I left New York I wasn't sure what would happen then Atlanta became my playground to grow stronger, faster, smarter and use my uniqueness to make money, connections and build a brighter future. Wherever you are in life know that you are exactly where you need to be to get where you are going.

Christmas EP X Interview with artist Dimitri McDowell

I love poetry!
The feeling it emits by describing episodes and moments in time.
I have to have the "define craftmenship" of art, feeling and color. Take a look of this emotionally channeled poem below

Interview with Singer X Songwriter @DimitriMcDowell

I have had the pleasure of growing up with many talented and humble individuals in my life. One especially is 20 year old music genius Dimitri McDowell from Queens, New York. We grew up and attended Camp Joharie in upstate New York and Bethel church right in Jamaica, Queens together for years and he was always been an inspiration to me!

Recently, I've gotten a chance to rekindle our friendship and learn more about his journey in the music business. Below is my interview with Dimitri discussing his life, point of view and road to success.
Enjoy and be INSPIRED!

What's your name and birthday?

- Dimitri McDowell - December 23 1992

What/who inspired your music?

- I was young, singing and rapping was my passion and thats all I knew how to do, then I got into poetry but never was up front about it. I struggled with a terrible speech impediment since I was four, and getting teased and made fun of was second nature to me and always brought me in a depression as well as low self esteem. I began writing my feelings down in a note book when I was in 6th grade, and my principle at the time found my notebook lying around somewhere and she called me in an office and expressed that it was a beautiful feeling and she wanted me to say the poem at a christmas concert as well as dance and lip sing to a old song "Donnie McClurkin - Walking In Authority". My father started taking me to diffrent places to perform such as the Apollo, in which I won several times, McDonalds Gospelfest, Knick Poetry Slam, diffrent churches and venues. From then, I continued to write, sing, and dance and it served as a form of relief and it began to go with the emotions I have at that moment. Growing up, as I began to create more songs and poetry and perform it everywhere, I wanted to take this as a life long dream and become a mainstream artist and a songwriter, I believed I can because my music was good and I knew I can make it. A lot of people wouldnt take me serious and continue to clown my stutter but that didnt stop me. My insipration came directly from God and my close family and friends. I plan to take my parents and my family out of our situations and where we live, and bring them to a bigger and better life.

Style 365 24/7

Fashion Night out came and went here in Atlanta. Bringing out fashionistas, models, stylist, designers and more.
I did some media coverage for @BEMagazine
Viewed H&M's Fashion Show at Atlantic Station and was invited to premiering seasonal lines of some International designers.
I enjoyed my evenings out envisioning myself in my home city of New York City, doing the same with my girls. living in the city once again. But for now Atlanta will do.
I had tons of fun and loved being around like minded people, all creative, worldly and positive. It motivates me to do more, better for now and forever.
Fashion Week isn't just one week but everyday for me!
Check out some pictures of my fashion week and some fashion videos of a few designers I admire (Nicole Miller & Herve Leger) below!

How do you feel about this topic?

I lived in New York when the twin towers fell, Queens to be exact but my mom's job was located in the city.
My sister coming to my elementary school and us walking home seems like just yesterday, discussing how worried we were about mom and what was going on.
My mom actually worked downtown near the site and came back home full of soot that day, tired, worried and tearing.
We watched the second building fall in the basement on our T.V., hugging each other and praying it would be the last attack
I remember the day clearly....

Now whether or not the building goes up does not directly affect my life but why there?

New York lacks space for real estate but starting up a controversial project where there will always be a soft spot in the heart of New Yorkers is never a wise action and will lead to many negative responses.
