If you have ever seen one of my favorite fashion competition shows, Project Runway, you may of heard of Rafael Cox. An ATLien and season 9 contestant whose only let the shows experience catapult him as one of Atlanta's go to designers. I was privileged to premiere my custom/handmade jewelry line Nik_Gold Designs * at BE Magazine's No Wire Hangers Fashion show late last year along side Rafael's clothing line which was premiering his new season's selections. Rafael always comes with refreshing, statement numbers and even bolder color schemes and silhouettes  I attended the event front row along side BE Magazine, Atlanta socialites, stylist, models and even some reality show stars. Great networking and lots of cameras and lots of smoke! Check out some photos of the event filled night below!

BE Magazine X Fashion Show X NGD Line Premiere Success

The highly anticipated @Bemagazine @nwhTROIS benefit fashion show for @40girls1 hosted by Love and Hip Hop's own @MimiFaust went off flawlessly this weekend!

I was beyond ecstatic as I have been planning the special night for weeks and nothing was going to stand in my way!

To top it off my best friends and true supporters @Livin_w0rth and @Aehtelayt  came from South Carolina to support and the musically inclined and always a joy to see @DimitriMcDowell

I was able to accessorize the lovely MiMi and celebrity DJ/radio personality @TraciSteele !!!

 "The evening BEgan with a VIP reception which presented 2 up & coming designers Nik Gold Designs by Nicole Ayilola & Remmarc Zelyts by Dwight Holt Jr. Guests enjoyed unlimited Cool Breeze cocktails by FOU-DRE Vodka, and were entertained by Grammy Award Nominee Torica & her live band The Perfect Mistakes."

How realistic is the scenario of stressed out R.A's?

My mother suggested I be one with free room and board or maybe a paycheck every week.

But does the success of being an R.A balance out with the amount of zeros at the end of a check?

Being a R.A is like being a confidant,

a manager, counselor, adviser, janitor... and the list goes on.

While balancing your schedule as well as others there are only a few special individuals who could

handle being an R.A in college. Even the most successful ones seem to be ones that do not attend the school

but live in the dorms and to be honest that seems heartbreaking.

Janelle Monae, Estelle, B.O.B, Lupe Fiasco- Following all these artists since 2007. It's cool that they are finally being recognized for who they are. REAL, DIFFERENCE, POSITIVITY. Finally.

 Meeting her for the second time was much like the first, aside for the different look and setting[ Def not in Walmart this time]. She was still humble, patient and didn't mind holding a convo. I know if she was Beyonce it would be a little different but a star is a star and having time to talk to them and relate to them on a human level makes me realize that every little thing you do makes a difference. 

So milking everything for what its worth and getting the most out of everything wont hurt. Yeah a little more energy and less socializing and yes I'm talking about college,  wont hurt. The road to being rich and famous can be just as paved as the yellow brick road... if I let it.

[2nd semester talk]

It's crazy out of talking to Chili and Ciara, I get, follow my dreams and try hard in EVERYTHING, not leave everything, move back to New York and "network" everywhere. Just real words, from real women who reached REAL success.
