The other night just cruising through Atlanta I spotted a video shoot taking place at a well known downtown studio. When I pulled up one of the Love Hip Hop husbands to Rasheeda mentioned me to join the event. So with that notion I did, at first as an extra but when I felt the need to put more Nik_Gold Designs into it for accessories and styling. I promptly networked and made my way to the dressing room to put in work. The photo shoot lasted until in the morning but I left knowing I had classes super early which was a disappoint but fueled me to do more while I was on set. Life of a college student, business owner, worker and journalist. Juggling a busy schedule but nothing is going to stop my drive or creativity. Let's work.

This Week On Instagram

This week has been productive and full of places to go in which the question arrives on what to wear. For me I get inspired to wear a certain outfit. I never plan or over-think a look for a certain setting and believe when you do your outfit suffers. 

Style should be effortless. 

Luckily this weeks' plans has included business, fashion and an educational setting. Running errands the other day I put on this cream number. I'm not usually the jeans type and I definitely do not even own a wifebeater (white ribbed tank top) Not in my wardrobe. So I took my spin on cream and received a great response!

DIY Ombre Blond-Red Tutorial

I started off with 1B Malaysian Straight to Wavy 16 inch hair. 

I sewed it in, I layered it, kept it curly and straightened it.

(It looked great both ways!)

After a few weeks I tried Ombre, which I originally did last year and had fun with the look so I wanted to try it again.

 Separating the hair and bleaching the ends until I got a favorable black-brown-blond tips,

I liked the blond tip look way more than the regular colored hair and then as usual I got bored and decided to dye the tips a cool color.

I wanted a light yet edgy color and choose this pinkish bright red Splat color.

The permanent color was vibrant. I recieved a load of compliments and what I aim to do, looking as real as possible.

I however, would NOT bleach and dye my hair, I will just stick with applying it to weave.

The Launching of Nik_Gold Designs X July 4th 2012

My progress of my custom jewelry line, Nik_Gold Designs has been a long one. A journey of joys, acknowledgement, trials and most importantly progress.

July 4th, 2012 merely a couple of days ago, I premiered my website for my jewelry line.

My baby, I started creating in my old home in Queens, New York and started making in high school because I couldn't find what I  wanted in stores.

Now, I make it for friends, fans and in the near future celebrities you see everyday.

I pray for stability, humble ways and a bright future and I know with determination I will reach the top!

Must Haves for Summer 2012

Summer is in full effect and just glancing through my look books of what I have worn so far, it is apparent these items are a necessity in your closest.

Invest in style and items that are classic staples and not only trends that will trend out and keep unneeded space in that closest!

And Thank GOD! Full Length skirts are here to stay! From sheer, to hi-low, colored to patterned. There are so many ways to wear a skirt. Though the Mickey Mouse shades may not come back next year as the hottest style to try, finding the right glass frame for your face is essential. The bug eye sunglasses will not and I repeat WILL NOT work for everyone! Be inconspicuous with a shade to match your personality.

I love a heel! I don't remember the last time I wore flats all day. These wedges and platforms are not only comfortable (you can run and dance in wedges better than any other heel) but look fashionable with jeans to a funky dress. Rock out this summer like a lady, a lady in complimentary heels*

This summer I have seen more mid-drift than a teenage slumber party, and honestly I don't mind it. As long as the stomach is tight that is... These flattering, corsets, cropped corsets, cropped tops and bandeau's compliment, full length skirts, high waisted shorts or pretty much anything you want to pair with them.

You can never go wrong with a statement clutch. Not only can you change it up by color, texture or print but it adds a certain statement to a otherwise classic outfit. Turn up the heat to a simple look with one of these hot summer clutches!
